It's very difficult to capture a decent photo of geiko/maiko in Gion. There are so many tourists and photographers that line the streets waiting for the perfect photo op. When a geisha comes walking down the alley, she's often walking at top speed and you need to be quick to get a good shot. As you can see, I'm neither quick nor talented enough."
